Last month, we held a Crowdfunder campaign to raise money to create digital creative writing workshops for schools. We are so excited, touched, and proud to say we reached our target and this project will now become a reality!

This project will see us produce a package of digitally delivered writing workshops for Cornish school children, to rebuild confidence in writing, to engage imaginations and impact positively on their literacy skills. Through creativity and ingenuity, we’ll support young people to discover, craft and share their unique stories whilst working in partnership with teachers to help meet curriculum needs.

Now, more than ever, the work of The Writers’ Block is necessary for schools in Cornwall to bring them inspiration and writing results through digital workshops while physical visits are not possible.

It is in thanks to all of our generous supporters that this has been made possible, and these workshops will be rolled out free of charge to Cornish schools late January and offered to schools further afield soon after.

We would like to make a couple special notes of thanks to Sir Tim Rice, John Wedgewood Clarke, Liz Carr, Rich Stever and Gabrielv.
