A writing masterclass for 11-18 year olds with travel writer Jacob Little.

In today’s world there are countless opportunities to create online. It means there are a huge variety of opportunities to publish and distribute creative writing to a wider audience. Whether it’s through social media and blogging, writing scripts and book ideas, travel writing, short story writing or just writing about your favourite game or hobby. If there’s a subject you’re passionate about and you enjoy writing about it – you’ll find a home for it online.

This workshop will take you through the opportunities on offer writing in the internet age – from travel and lifestyle writing to getting started blogging and finding a wider audience. We’ll look at the types of careers you can go into if you want to become a writer, and how to approach people with pitches and ideas. We will also consider different audiences and voices, and explore the techniques used to write online.
