Were Once

by Maia Kimpton

The  birds in the sky

Were once furry fluff-balls

And the trees on the ground

Used to be bare

The plants in the earth

Were once tiny shrubs

Whilst the hens in their house

Were once feathery chicks

The adults alive now

Used to be small.

What a clever poem! To describe how we were all once new born. It made me think about when my neices, nephews and godchildren were first born. I’m glad the poem made me remember.
