Writing Prompt from Annamaria Murphy and Tony Crosby

Throughout Spring/Summer 2020, we featured a Prompt a Day on our Facebook page, with a different writer leading each week.

For the final week, we used prompts from Annamaria Murphy composed in response to collage boxes created by Tony Crosby – one of the artists who helped design and set up the beautiful and inspiring space that is The Writers’ Block.

Write an entire family tree for this man. Start with him in his time, and take it right up to now. Who did he marry? Who were their children? What were their professions, tragedies, triumphs. (I bit like the BBC’s “Who do you think you are.”) See what stories come out.
