A big thank you to Becalelis Brodskis for this wonderful animation celebrating the work of children from St Dennis and Nanpean primary schools.

Alongside students from Brannel and Poltair, the primary schools took part in a creative writing project with writers and artists from The Story Republic.

Using the exhibits, mine-workings and extensive grounds at Wheal Martyn as inspiration, local pupils worked with our  creative professionals to write poetry and make book art sculptures.

All of the work went on display at the museum and White River Place and a number of the poems were performed by local school children at a special evening event at Wheal Martyn.

We’ll be running a similar project in St Austell in September and are already excited about what that area’s  young artists and wordsmiths  will create.

Watch this space!
