Join them on their quest and get involved with some highly interactive storytelling!
This Arts Council England funded show is a delightful way of engaging primary aged children with Science, it’s highly interactive and touches on a wide range of topics: from the timeline of humans to the creation of black holes, from what an atom is to the best way to make a volcano. One of the show’s main aims is to elevate the subject out of a textbook and into the world around us; demonstrating the joy of asking questions about the universe we live in and the thrill of discovery when they’re answered. The show helps children to develop curious minds and raise aspirations through storytelling, theatre and interactive science experiments. The show is perfect for schools performances and all our performers are experienced in working with children of all ages. We are now taking bookings for Spring and Summer 2019.
“We came with three boys all different ages and they all loved it, so did their dad. It was great when they got him up on stage to join in. It was fun but also educational, the prefect mix!” – Audience Member St Day
Coppice Theatre is a collective of creatives based in Cornwall. We create engaging, entertaining, educational theatrical events for children and families. We support emerging performers and artists, helping them to gain valuable experience in the arts, offering professional work with the
company and internship opportunities. In 2016 we created Tales of Ice and Snow at The Poly Falmouth, we have since created Jack’s Frosty Frosties 1 & 2 for the venue. Science Adventures played to venues across Cornwall in 2018 on a test tour and will be touring again in Spring
The audience for this piece is children 5-12yrs and families. The show is entertaining for adults as well as children and is a great cross generational piece. It will particularly appeal to fans of literature, storytelling, science, space and STEM subjects.
We offer workshops for various ages and abilities in drama, creating character, stage technology, storytelling, story building, writing, basic coding, science activities, Makey Makey circuits and animation. We can also tailor a workshop to a particular group or to fit themes, curriculum and projects.
The show is available to book throughout Spring and Summer 2019 and we have subsidies for the first 10 Cornish schools to book. Please contact the producer Jasmine Cole for more information and to discuss bringing the show to your school.
