We are delighted to announce that following their support for the first year of The Story Republic, the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation have agreed to provide funding totalling £90,000 over a further 3 years!

The Foundation sits alongside Arts Council England, Falmouth University and Cornwall Council in supporting The Story Republic and we are very grateful that these funders have the vision to invest in such a new and exciting programme.

These next three years see us developing work around Writer Spaces working with photographer Steve Tanner to create an exhibition and publication looking at writers in their spaces. So far, Patrick Gale, Jill Murphy, Anna Murphy, Pauline Sheppard and Bill Scott feature and we hope to be working with John Le Carre soon!

One of last year’s great successes was our team of Story Republicans, they cut quite a dash at festivals and events across Cornwall. This year we have expanded the team, and working with Creative Skills, have 14 Story Republicans on an emerging performers training programme. See here to catch them out and about!

Other ventures over the next three years are centred around raising a national profile so  include developing our digital strategy so you can be part of The Story Republic wherever you are, creating a touring show for 2016, and sharing work and installations with other story organisations such as the Discover Centre in London.

We’d like to say a big thank you to all our partners, artists, writers, funders, schools and of course our audience, for your support so far!
