A group of pupils from St. Ives School recently joined us at The Writers’ Block. Here is a piece they created.


 

Glow, where did you get your white?

 

I stole it from the diamonds trapped in a newborn’s eye

Borrowed it from Neptune’s mystic azur as they gazed upon his beauty

Plucked it from the regal crest of the kingfisher perching on the pondweed

From the wings of a swan, the starry night, the puffed clouds and the crunchy snow.

 

Was there any left for you?
