Pens, Paper, Envelopes grew from the simple, yet powerful human need to connect. The project’s aim is to share stories through intergenerational letter writing, bringing together individuals from Coastline Housing in Camborne and Redruth with children from local Primary Schools. Writers facilitated exchanges of tales, which led to heartfelt letter exchanges between generations.
Pens, Paper, Envelopes
This project ran for two years, in 2021 and 2023. Writers Jane Pugh, Mark Crees, Polly Roberts and Sarah Connors met with individuals in Coastline Housing and in Camborne and Redruth to share tales, which prompted letter exchanges with children from Troon, Weeth, Kehelland, Trewirgie, Penponds and St John’s Primary school Primary Schools. The above video is just 3 of the 14 short stories. The illustrations are by the children supported by artist Keith Sparrow.
