What is it?
A monthly session for young people who are brimming with ideas and stories and want to share them with like-minded, friendly young writers and readers.
Where is it?
In an artist-created space which is dedicated to firing the imagination and encouraging creative writing, that is The Writers’ Block, situated in Cornwall College in Pool.
What happens?
Each session on a Saturday morning is full of discussion, short, fun exercises to get the creativity flowing, longer time to really write and get into your story, led by Cornish writers Olivia Lowry and Casey Bottono. Each term we plan to have a guest writer, for example songwriters. We also visit The Minack Theatre at least once a year for inspiration. And there’s always lots of juice and biscuits.
Who’s it for?
Any young writer aged between twelve and sixteen. All you need is curiosity, a willingness to have a go and a notebook and pen. Then who knows what we’ll produce…
When is it?
September 28th, November 2nd, December 14th from 10am -1pm
Cost: £5 per session
Come along by yourself or with friends and meet new young writers, feed off one another, get your visions into words and hook into Cornwall’s rich cultural life. You are the next generation of creative writers – take your first step with us. Each session will be led by writers and performers Casey Bee and Olivia Lowry.
